Business development · Founder · Former NHL player

Hi, I'm Matt Lorito.

A sales professional who spent a decade learning how to outwork the room.

I run business development for Matterhorn Fit, founded and grew Lorito Hockey to 50+ clients with no outside funding, and spent eight years as a pro hockey player (NHL debut, Calder Cup champion, two-time AHL All-Star). Brown '15, FINRA SIE and Series 66 licensed. I build pipeline for a living and I use Claude to do it.

What I've built

Two businesses and the system that runs the pipeline.

Built with Claude / Sales ops

Lead Management System for Lorito Hockey

I was losing inquiries across texts, Instagram DMs, and email, so I built a lightweight CRM with Claude to capture every lead, stage it, and trigger follow-ups.

Business development / Launch

Matterhorn Fit at Wings Arena

Helped launch an integrated rehab and training facility inside Stamford's new NHL-size arena and own new business for it: $300K+ closed in the first five months.

  • Built the prospect list from my Westchester and Greenwich network, then expanded with cold outreach.
  • Hand-off from first touch to coaching staff and back for retention.
  • Established partnerships with Greenwich Skating Club, Stateline Hawks, and Greenwich High School Girls Varsity Hockey.

Why Anthropic · Why BDR

I already do the job. I want to do it for a product I believe in.

Outbound is my default

50 clients for Lorito Hockey and $300K for Matterhorn didn't come inbound. I built the lists, made the calls, sent the emails, and followed up until it was a yes or a clear no.

I qualify for a living

700 scouting reports for an NHL GM taught me to make a call on incomplete information, write it up tight, and own the outcome. That's lead qualification.

Coachable, competitive, team-first

Eight years inside pro locker rooms and a captaincy at Brown. I take feedback, I change the next rep, and I care about the people next to me hitting their number too.

"As a father of two young children, Anthropic’s mission matters to me because I want the AI they grow up with to be safe, reliable, and worthy of trust. I’m especially drawn to the goal of building AI that remains steerable and aligned with human values, so that as these systems become more powerful, we can help ensure that they do not impose any unnecessary risks to future generations. Using Claude daily has had a significant impact on my small private coaching business as well as my productivity and organization at Matterhorn Fit."
